Thanks from a grateful family

Tuesday, August 24, 2021

Sometimes there just aren’t words. Even a month later, we are still struggling to find a way to best describe our overwhelming gratitude for the incredible support our family received at the Bullseyes for Brain Cancer Benefit for Rick. ‘Thank you’ seems so inadequate, but it’s the best we have, so thank you.

Thank you to Mike and Nikki Schupbach and Rich and Sam Emrich as well as everyone at The Throwing Post for hosting such an incredible event. You guys are absolutely, amazing and the love and support you’ve shown our guy means more than you know. Nancy Kriener and Kim Aneweer, you guys are rockstars. The auction, raffle and bake sale went off without a hitch and were beyond successful because of all your hard work.

Thank you to Chris and Suzie Kraft and the great folks at Ruthven Meat Locker for donating the delicious food to serve and thank you to my SLES family for providing all the yummy desserts at the bake sale. To all the people and businesses who donated such wonderful items to the raffle and auction, your extreme generosity blew us away and has helped to lift some huge financial burdens for Rick and his family.

Thank you to the set up and support crew, which included Melissa ‘Magnuson’ Mensing, David and Nancy Dau, Michelle Black, Lisa Bandy Richter, Beverly Wilmesheer Pratt, Chris Ingraham and the Kriener clan (apologies if we missed anyone). You guys are beyond awesome. Thank you to everyone who loaned us tables and tents so we could display everything so nicely and provide some much needed shade on a warm July afternoon. And thank you to the city of Arnolds Park for allowing us to close off the street so we had plenty of room for the event itself.

Finally, to everyone who came out to throw axes, eat food, bid on items and show support for our family, we are beyond grateful. As Kim Aneweer so wisely said to me, sometimes in life you need to step back and let the angels around you reveal themselves. It’s absolutely obvious to us that we are completely surrounded and blessed beyond measure.

Philemon 1:4 – I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers.
