Spirit Lake community blood drive results
For over 15 years, Spirit Lake and surrounding communities have been supporting the local blood bank, LifeServe Blood Center, at the community blood drives coordinated by John Guthrie. The blood drive was held this past Tuesday, March 12, to help the blood center in a very high need time during the colder season. Several donors stepped up by saving lives.
LifeServe Blood Center was able to collect 42 units of blood saving up to 126 local lives – these are the highest numbers we've seen from Spirit Lake Community since 2015. If you missed this opportunity to give back, Lakes Regional Healthcare is hosting a drive from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Lakes Regional in the Big Spirit Conference Room. The next community blood drive will be1-5:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Dickinson County Community Building. Thanks to all who supported this drive and we look forward to seeing you next time!
