Conference: Twin Lakes Conference

Head Coach: John Fulton

Seasons Coached: 2

Last Year's Finish: Cornbelt Conference champions

What are the main differences between this year's team and last year's team?

We lost our top golfer from last year, but return a bulk of a team got fourth place in the regional final last year.

Where do your strengths lie this year?

I think the strength we have is we have a very solid group of girls that can shoot really well, which is a rarity in 1A girls golf. We can have five different girls who could be our medalist week in and week out.

Where do you see the team needing to improve?

We really need to work on our short game around the greens. If we clean up our chipping and putting we can improve our team score. We constantly strive to play bogey golf and that starts around the green.

Who are your returning athletes from last year's squad?

We have a good group of girls coming back from last years team: Sara Harris (11) First Team All-Conference, Lauren Flaharty (12) Second Team All-Conference, Carrie Hoffman (12) Second Team All-Conference, Emma Feldhacker (10) Second Team All-Conference, and Destiny Akridge (12).

Any promising newcomers who will be in the mix?

We have a couple of girls that could move up from our JV team and fill that last varsity spot: Hailey Derrickson (10) and Sarah Alexander (11).

Size up your conference/district this year.

The Twin Lakes has some great golf teams, including Alta-Aurelia, East Sac County, and Newell-Fonda. We are looking forward to playing against some of these teams and seeing how we stack up. We just want to make sure we are playing our best golf come playoff time.
