Thanks from the Red Cross
On behalf of the American Red Cross, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to each and every blood donor who supported the blood drives in Milford and Spirit Lake Aug. 8-9. All year long in our community and across the nation, approximately 3,000 hospitals and their patients rely on the Red Cross to meet their needs for blood products. In turn, the Red Cross relies on the generosity and dedication of its coordinators, volunteers and donors to support its lifesaving mission.
Congratulations are extended to Ronald Robinson of Milford who earned his 12 gallon pin and Dale Palmberg of Spirit Lake who earned his 9 gallon pin. What a wonderful gift of life you have given to those who are in need.
We would like to say "thank you" to Kiwanis who so graciously give their time to help the Red Cross workers unload their equipment and then return at the end and help load it all up again. Your continued support of this worthy cause is so appreciated. "Thank you" to Grace Lutheran Church for providing a place for the Blood Drive -- your hospitality is great. To all the volunteers -- you are the greatest. Without your support and dedication, we could not continue in this most important effort to meet the needs of so many individuals who rely on the supply of blood.
Please mark Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 on your calendar for our next blood drive. Bring a friend. Do your part to help the Red Cross meet the ever growing demand for blood and help ensure blood is available for patients whenever and wherever it is needed. It could be you. The need is constant and the gratification is instant. Give Blood!
