Dickinson County Relay for Life 2018
If the line for face-painting was any indication, the Dickinson County Relay for Life was another success. Paula Nordblad, one of the local organizers for the local American Cancer Society fundraiser, stayed busy from 5:15-10 p.m., including a lot of time adding color to young faces. Money raised at the 15th annual Dickinson County event helps promotes early cancer detection and prevention techniques, while funding American Cancer Society programs and cancer research. Survivors took the first lap around the Queen's Court on Friday. Dickinson County Relay for Life organizers worked with Arnolds Park Amusement Park to once again synchronize the event with the arrival of "OK200: Stop The Traffic" riders. The bicyclists cover 200 miles from West Des Moines to the Iowa Great Lakes to raise funds and awareness in support of human traffic survivors in Nepal and Iowa.
