Life reminds me of some amusement park rides: slow- fast- up-down- sideways- upside down- bumps- and then suddenly it’s over. Our Bible says: "Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away." ( James 4:14)
People seem to be searching everywhere to find "The meaning of Life". Reminds me of that old song - "Looking for love in all the wrong places."
I pray that Melanie's pictures and words below put the meaning of life in perspective for you.
Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
Need proof? Tell them Melanie!
"Fun doesn’t just happen, you have to make it happen," my girlfriend said.
"That’s right," I thought, "Who wants to wait for life to pass us by!?"
That year was wild. I was wild and would try anything once. Fully indoctrinated, I had gained the reputation for being able to line up a party faster than anyone else. We lived for the weekends. Then I started having blackouts and getting into situations I didn’t want to be in. I woke up to the reality that we were just a bunch of drunks and my "friends" were using me. Is this the way it is supposed to be?
Life: this is the way it is supposed to be. I was created by and for God. Now I know that life and true happiness can only start with Jesus, who said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." (John 14:6) It has been a few years now since I made that decision, and I have never been sorry — not for one day. As I look back I can see how God has lovingly met my needs, even in the little, everyday situations. To my surprise, I’ve discovered God is extremely practical. For instance, one thing He does is give me guidance in making daily decisions. I used to think life with God would be a drag, but on the contrary, God has surrounded me with special favors every day. I’ve never been disappointed. He is all-loving, all-powerful, and 100 percent faithful. No person on earth can make that claim.
All of this has dramatically changed my relationships with other people too. Since God’s love has filled my heart, I’m not demanding or constantly groping for an inner vacuum to be filled by someone else. He has filled it. Now, I am free to give to others. That is why I’m writing this to you now – I’m a living testimony of the fact that eternal life and happiness can only begin with God. And that’s the way it was supposed to be.
