Thanks from Lakes Area Hockey

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

The Good Neighbor Fund has provided an opportunity for our whole community to give generously to a wide variety of causes. The Lakes Area Hockey Association is so grateful for this year's Good Neighbor support as we further enhance our facility with much needed coin-operated locker facilities for those who utilize our facility.

The Lakes Area Ice Arena services annually nearly 200 local hockey players, ages four through adult from Dickinson, Emmett, Clay and Osceola counties and beyond. This past year we hosted 1,000 visiting families from Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska during the 2019-2020 season for games and tournaments which added close to $250,000 in economic impact within our communities.

In addition to hockey, approximately 5,000 individual skaters enjoyed weekend open skates and other private facility rentals. The ice area is a unique and valuable recreational opportunity and is a great enhancement to the Lakes Area.

We sincerely thank the Good Neighbor Fund for their continued support. It is because of generous donors and philanthropic organizations that we are able to provide such a tremendous asset to our community members and continue to add to a long list of community supported organizations that makes the Lakes Area so special to all who live here.

We look forward to seeing you on the ice!

Sincerely,

Michael Meyers
