Team WAVE, still blooming!
Team WAVE and the City of Arnolds Park would like to thank everyone who participated in our Adopt-A-Flowerbed program. Some of you have been part of our Adopt-A-Bed program for several years. Helping us keep our landscaped areas of the city clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy is no easy task, and we thank you for your part in that. This year’s Adopt-A-Flower-Bed program participants were, Kim and Sandra Norby, Liberty National Bank of Okoboji, Oak Hill Marina, The Sugar Shack, Jensen Real Estate, Mary Drier, Linda Hinshaw and Barb Woodley.
Team WAVE (Willing Active Volunteers for the Environment) is a beautification committee of volunteers for the city of Arnolds Park. Team WAVE plants and maintains a variety of trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers throughout the city. Our funds come from donations and grants. Our meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month, April through September at noon at the Arnolds Park City Hall. We schedule work times throughout the spring, summer and fall. Come join us if you are interested in being part of our team, or are interested in the Adopt-A-Flowerbed program.
The Okoboji Bible Conference Youth, and Forest Ridge were two of our volunteer groups who helped with weeding, planting and mulching when we needed them, Northwest Bank provided refreshments for us on work days. Cottage Gardens of Milford, Roger and Nancy DeVries, offered expert advice, quality plants, service, and donations. We are privileged to have such great help from the city maintenance crew also. We very much appreciate everyone's help.
A big thank you to all who have sponsored our hanging flower baskets. We receive many compliments on how beautiful they look around our city. Baskets are planted by Cottage Gardens early in the season, and hung on our light posts by the Arnolds Park maintenance crew when the flowers are ready. We thank Kris Poupre for faithfully watering our beautiful baskets all season. If anyone is interested in sponsoring one of our hanging baskets next season, please let us know.
