Boji Brew Fest thanks

Tuesday, August 13, 2019

The Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who helped make our third annual Boji Brew Fest event Aug. 3 at Arnolds Park Central Park a great success. A special thank you to the members of PEO, Chapter PA Spirit Lake, and spouses who volunteered along with our club members to make set up, ticket sales and tear down run smoothly.

Thank you to West O Beer and Okoboji Brewing Company for partnering with us once again and to all the brewers, wineries and distilleries that participated from around the tri-state area. A big thank you to our musician Dave Rowley for entertaining us, Walmart and HyVee for providing water, Waffle Chix for serving great food, and the city of Arnolds Park for a great venue. You all made a difference!

Thank you to the many local and summer residents, vacationers and out-of-town visitors who enjoyed Boji Brew Fest while supporting our cause! Proceeds from the event will go toward new equipment, signage and other maintenance updates this fall at Shelby's Playground in Elinor Bedell State Park. The new playground equipment has been ordered and installation will start in September. The Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club, along with other partner organizations, plant flowers, pull weeds, prune shrubs and provide general maintenance to the playground every year. Shelby's Playground was built by the IGL Rotary club in 2000-2001 to honor the memory of a young Spirit Lake child who died from abuse. Shelby's Playground is located at Elinor Bedell State Park on the east side of East Lake Okoboji.

Sincerely,

Amy Marlow, Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club President and the IGL Rotary Boji Brew Fest Committee: Peggy Gustafson, Kathy Fahy, Tom Fuhrman, Dave Rowley, Steve Lindeberg and Rebecca Peters
