The journey continues
I want to send a huge thank you to everyone who attended my benefit concert on Sept. 6 at First Lutheran Church. The outpouring of support from the community has been incredible and I am forever grateful. The surgery to remove my brain tumor was very successful; the symptoms that I was suffering from have completely disappeared including the loss of my memory and my vision. I am back at work part-time and I'm able to drive again and live a mostly normal life. However, my journey is far from over. I still have six weeks of daily radiation to complete the removal of the tumor and a life time of hospital visits to make sure it doesn't return. Your support and generosity have gone a very long way toward helping with those future visits to Columbus for radiation therapy as well as the massive medical bills that come with major surgery.
Lastly, I want to thank the incredible artists who donated their time and talents to the benefit concert. I am so lucky to have grown up in this community and to have made music with these individuals. Although it’s been a long time since I lived in Okoboji, those experiences continue to shape my life every day and I'm so very grateful for our friendships.
