No. 12 Wolves drop War Eagle road trip to Akron-Westfield
The 12th-ranked (1A) Harris-Lake Park volleyball team dropped a War Eagle Conference road trip to unranked Akron-Westfield on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
The Wolves fell behind 2-0 with a 25-13 loss in set one and a 25-23 loss in set two. They bounced back with a 25-20 win in set three, but fell 27-25 in the fourth and final set of the night.
Senior Taylor Meyer led the Wolves' offense with 18 kills. She also had 22 digs, one block and was 13-14 serving with two aces.
Junior McKenzie Heikens had seven kills, 17 digs, 10 assists, a block and was 14-15 serving with three aces.
Senior Madison Brevik dished out 23 assists. She also had 14 digs and an ace.
Freshman Tessa Gunderson had 16 digs and was 5-6 serving with an ace.
Fellow frosh Zella Ingham had four kills, seven digs and was 15-16 serving with two aces.
Senior Bri Ihnen had three kills, four digs and was 13-14 serving with an ace.
Senior Cheyenne Nelson had two blocks and was 10-12 serving with five aces.
The Wolves (5-4, 1-1) returned to action Tuesday, Sept. 11 in their home opener against Gehlen Catholic.
They will next be in action Saturday, Sept. 15 at a tournament hosted by Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Aysrhire, and Tuesday, Sept. 18 on the road against South O'Brien.
