Trump: Protect my friends, punish my enemies

Tuesday, September 11, 2018

After extensive investigation, the D.O.J listing numerous offenses by Representatives Chris Collins (R - New York) and Duncan Hunter (R - California) avid Trump supporters, indicted them for insider trading and improper use of $250,000 of campaign funds for personal use. In a surprising response about the upcoming November elections President Trump said, "Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good Job Jeff."

After a litany of remarks by the President about Sessions lack of loyalty, intelligence and refusal to adhere to his requests to prosecute Hillary Clinton, Sessions responded appropriately, "While I am the Attorney General, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations."

In support, House Speaker Paul Ryan stated, "The Department of Justice should be free of political influence."

The president does not understand that the DOJ is the defender of, and responsible to the people of our country, not a tool of the president to protect his friends and punish his enemies.
