Pioneers fall to Wildcats in straight sets

Okoboji suffered its sixth conference volleyball loss this season on Thursday, as the Pioneers fell to West Lyon at home in straight sets.

The Pioneers now 1-6 in the Siouxland Conference and 6-19 overall on the season lost 25-11 in the opening game before losing 25-14 in game two and 25-10 in game three to end the night.

Okoboji had nine players record at least one kill on the night, but none had more than Grace Wintz, who finished with four.

Sydney Jensen had three kills on the night. Morgan Jensen, Camry Jones and Elle Olthoff had two. Kendal Green, Madi Miler, Alexis Neilsen and Taylor Titterington each had one.

Laura Nielsen led the way with seven assists. Jones had three, Alli Harms and Mackenzie Vos had two each and Green had one.

Green and Vos had eight digs each. Titterington had six. Nielsen had five. Harms and Wintz had four each.

Jones and Neilsen both had a block.

Sydney Jensen was 7-7 serving with two aces.

Jones was 4-5 serving with two aces.

Morgan Jensen was 1-2 with an ace.

The match was the final home contest for the Pioneers this season.

They returned to action Tuesday at Sheldon and will wrap up the season with road trips to Rock Rapids on Thursday and Armstrong the following Tuesday to take on Central Lyon and North Union.
