A successful brew

Tuesday, August 29, 2017

On behalf of the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club, we would like to thank everyone who supported our first ever Boji Brew Fest on July 29 of this year. Working in conjunction with Spirit Lakes PEO Chapter PA, we were able to raise money for renovations of Shelby's Playground at Elinor Bedell State Park.

In our first year, we had 12 craft breweries serve almost 40 different craft beers to attendees who were able to enjoy an Okoboji summer afternoon while sampling all the varieties of beer. A huge thank you to all the brewers, everyone who attended, and all the volunteers from both Rotary and PEO and their spouses!

A special thank you to Wal-Mart and Hy-Vee for donating the water, to the local breweries West O Beer and Okoboji Brewing Company for helping to host the event, to the Clear Lake Brews on the Beach for sharing in the fencing costs, Dave Rowley & Ryan Sather for the great live music, and to the The Lakes News Shopper, Dickinson County News and KUOO for helping us promote the event. We are already planning for next year's Boji Brew Fest to benefit community projects watch for the date to be announced soon! Thank you again for everyone who made our first year such a success!

Thank you!

Boji Brew Fest Steering Committee Kathy Fahy, Tom & Sherry Fuhrman, Steve & Karrey Lindeberg, Dave & Kris Rowley, Nate Gruys, Peggy Gustafson and Eileen Skogerboe
