Indians cap soccer regular season with win over Dutch

The Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji girls soccer team wrapped its regular season Tuesday, May 16 with a 2-1 road win over MOC-Floyd Valley. It was the sixth-straight win for the Indians, who head into the postseason with a program-best 12-3 overall record.

Sophomores Anna Ellefson and Annika Stecker scored Spirit Lake's two goals. Ellefson also recorded an assist. Freshman goalkeeper Jordyn Hamm had four saves on the night.

Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji returns to action Thursday in the first round of the regional tournament, as the Indians host Lakes Conference foe Storm Lake at 6 p.m. at the Bedell Family YMCA Soccer Complex.

It is the third meeting between the Indians and Tornadoes on the season. SLP-O is 2-0 against Storm Lake, having won a 2-0 road contest on April 18 and a 1-0 home match on May 11.
