Simms to play basketball at Iowa Lakes
Iowa Lakes Community College women's basketball coach Ashley Martin recently signed Anjanea Simms, a transfer student-athlete from Moberly Community College in Missouri.
“We are thrilled to announce the addition of Anjanea Simms and her family to our program and Laker family," Martin said. "Anjanea has an incredible passion for the game and will be a great addition to our women’s basketball program at Iowa Lakes. Anjanea has a great knack for finding the ball on the offensive end. She is a tenacious rebounder and plays with a lot of heart and hustle. We are excited to add Anjanea to our Laker family.”
Anjanea attended Affton High School in Affton, Missouri. Anjanea averaged 10.9 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game throughout her senior year. After high school, Anjanea continued her academic and basketball career at Moberly Community College for a year, took one year off to work and is now ready to continue her education and collegiate career again.
“I chose Iowa Lakes because it was a great fit for me," Simms said. "I got a vibe that I would be cared for as a student and athlete. I am very excited to be a student athlete at Iowa Lakes and am eager to see what doors Iowa Lakes will open for me.”
