Letter to the Editor

A response to Trump criticism

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

A few weeks ago there was a Letter to the Editor criticizing candidate Trump for things he said during the campaign. You will recall there were 17 candidates vying for the Republican nomination. I believe it would be more productive to evaluate now President Trump on what he has accomplished since Jan. 20. Some examples:

Outstanding cabinet selections, among them Rex Tillerson - Secretary of State, James Mattis - Secretary of Defense, John Kelly - Secretary of Homeland Security, Dr. Tom Price as Secretary of Health & Human Services, Jeff Sessions - Attorney General, and Nikki Haley U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Appointment of Neal Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court already hearing oral arguments on the Court.
Executive Order on ethics limiting the lobbying of the government
Executive Order repealing unnecessary government regulations by unelected bureaucrats
Executive Order minimizing the economic burden of Obamacare
Executive Order enforcing existing immigration laws
Executive Order protecting the country from foreign terrorists
Executive Order instructing government agencies to buy American and hire American
Executive Order for a Presidents commission to combat drug addiction

Our country will have President Trump for the next three years. We should all be wishing him success and offering positive ideas, rather than looking backward to criticize.
