Softball clinics are approaching

The Iowa Lakes softball team will hold an advanced clinic on Saturday, Feb. 4 and a youth clinic on Sunday, Feb. 5.

The advanced clinic is open to grades 7-12 and is split up into three sessions. The cost is $40 for each session.

Session 1 runs from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will focus on defensive skills like throwing techniques/drills as well as fielding technique/drills. Session 2 will run from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be focused on offensive skills like hitting techniques/drills, base running, and agilities. Session 3 runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will focus on pitching/catching drills and techniques. If you sign up for all three sessions, the cost will be $100.

The youth clinic is open to grades K-6 and will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a cost of $25. This clinic will focus on throwing, hitting, fielding, as well as base running. The registration deadline for each clinic is Feb. 3.

These clinics are designed to develop kids of all ages with the proper mechanics of the game. The camp will be instructed by Iowa Lakes softball players and coaches. This will allow the kids the opportunity to be exposed to college level training.
