A time to be thankful
Thanksgiving is fast approaching and we are gearing up for an old-fashioned feast at Discovery House.
We are blessed once again by donors in the community who will be providing the meal and, in combination with our family feast, we invite anyone in the community who would like to join us in celebrating this day of giving thanks to contact us at 336-5340. We would love to share in our bounty.
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis and President, Brent Harris for organizing a large group of members, teachers and parents from Spirit Lake Elementary and Middle Schools, and the K-Kids Club to come and rake our yard on Saturday, Nov. 5.
And, a special thank you to Tom Kuhlman for bringing your mulching machine to speed up the whole process. All of your efforts on our behalf are greatly appreciated. Without your help, we would still be filling up bags!
There have been many donations of food and clothing made recently and we want to thank all of those who made the effort to drop off these much needed items. We are grateful that so many individuals and organizations continue to bless us.
Our census is remaining steady at nine residents -- two women and seven men. We still have one male bed open and expect to fill it within the next week. After the last bed is filled, we typically remain full until spring.
Happy Thanksgiving to your family and you. We all have so much to be grateful for and need to remember to adopt "an attitude of gratitude."
