Farm Market News -- Great start
Hello again from the sellers at the farmers market. Well, it was a bit chilly but the market opened and 100 plus people came out to see what was available. None were disappointed.
I have a scoop for all you readers: The price of farm fresh eggs at the market is under retail at the super grocery stores. This avian flu may be awful for the commercial producers but our locals are still producing and will be selling eggs and fresh poultry to our fine readers.
The market will be open on Wednesdays at the same time -- 7:30 a.m. until noon.
As for the variety of venders, the market has crafters, tatters, woodworkers, and a champion candy maker -- and that is just one aisle. Now I am not ignoring vegetables, and as expected, spring produce includes radishes, herbs, and a wide variety of flowers. It is a fact that flowers in the home just make you feel better and brighten the surroundings, plus our vendors do such a nice job of gathering the blooms. The spring spinach is in full harvest, and making anything with fresh spring spinach is so good tasting and so healthy for you. Now let's trick your kids: Say we are having eggs Florentine or steak Florentine instead of spinach. Hope to see you Wednesday, look for me and say hello. Until then, eat well.
