Warriors score late, best Pioneers

Okoboji watched as a two-run lead disappeared late Tuesday night in Siouxland Conference baseball action, ending in a 6-4 victory for host Sioux Center.

Down 4-2 entering the bottom half of the sixth inning, the Warriors plated four runs to steal a victory in front of their home crowd.

Braxton Malchow took the loss for Okoboji, as the junior allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits and five walks while striking out one in 5 1/3 innings.

Jakob Fritsch pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks.

Noah Bouse led the way at the dish, going 2-4 with a double and a run scored.

Matt Eckard was 1-4. Holt Hunziker was 1-4 with a run scored. Ben DeMuth was 1-3 with a run scored. Pat Ellrich was 1-3 with a run scored. Fritsch was 1-1 with an RBI. Malchow was 1-1 with two RBIs, and Bryce Peter had an RBI for the Pioneers.
