Wolves rout Mavericks in doubleheader

Harris-Lake Park needed just six innings to earn two wins Wednesday over visiting Clay Central-Everly, as the Wolves routed the Mavericks 19-1 and 27-0 in doubleheader action.

In game one, the Mavericks actually got out to an early 1-0 lead in the top half of the first before H-LP answered with three in the bottom half of the inning to hold a 3-1 lead.

From there, though, it was all Wolves, as they scored 10 runs in the second and six in the third while holding the Mavericks scoreless to earn the decisive victory.

Jordan Kyle earned the win on the mound. He allowed an unearned run on one hit and three walks while striking out eight in four innings.

Kyle was also 2-2 with two runs scored.

Tanner Green was 1-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Bret Sohn was 2-2 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Brady Van Iperen was 1-2 with an RBI and three runs scored. Ryan Gembler was 1-2 with an RBI, three steals and three runs scored. Dahlton Burdorf was 1-3 with two steals and two runs scored. Trevor Gunderson was 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Skylar Cuddmore stole three bases and scored twice for the Wolves.

In game two, H-LP made quick work of the Mavericks, scoring 16 runs in the opening stanza before plating 11 in the bottom half of the second to earn the win.

Braeton Nitszchke earned the win on the mound. He allowed no runs on two hits and a walk while striking out three in two innings.

Nitszchke was also 3-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Cuddmore was 2-2 with three RBIs, a steal and three runs scored. Gunderson was 1-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Van Iperen was 1-1 with an RBI, a steal and three runs scored. Green was 1-2 with a home run, an RBI, a steal and two runs scored. Burdorf was 1-1 with an RBI and four runs scored. Sohn was 1-1 with an RBI and two runs scored. Bryce Perkins was 1-1 with an RBI. Keegan Carpenter was 1-1 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Jayden Gilge was 1-1 with a run scored.
