Loveall chooses Northwestern College
After a stellar senior season in which she led the Spirit Lake volleyball team in nearly every major offensive category and earned an All-Lakes Conference selection in the process, the Indians' Bailey Loveall had several colleges dreaming of adding her to their roster.
However, on Friday, the 6-footer chose to take her talents to Orange City, where she will suit up for the Northwestern College Red Raiders and coach Kyle Van Den Bosch.
"We're excited that Bailey is coming to Northwestern," Van Den Bosch said. "It's only an hour away, so we're happy that her friends and family will be able to come down and watch her play."
In 2013, Loveall led the Indians in kills (216), kill efficiency (.343), aces (43), aces per set (.53), blocks (79) and blocks per set (.98).
Her kill efficiency ranked third and her blocks per set ranked second in the Lakes Conference -- a conference that included two state qualifiers in Le Mars and Western Christian.
Loveall said she chose Northwestern because of its size and its Christian commitment.
"I went on a couple of different visits, but Northwestern was the one that stood out to me the most," Loveall said. "The atmosphere on campus was incredible. It is a small college; a Christian college. Both of those aspects really intrigued me. I'm very excited to get on campus and I can't wait for fall."
