Goehring signs with Mount Marty

Okoboji senior sprinter Gabriel Goehring, son of Scott and Teresa Goehring of Milford, signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday, Nov. 5, to participate in the track and field program at Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD.

MMC head track and field coach Randy Fischer was excited to add Goehring to his stable of athletes.

"Gabriel is a talented athlete that works very had and we are excited to have him running for the Lancers," he said. "I feel he has a great deal of potential in his collegiate running career."

Goehring was named First Team All-Siouxland Conference, First Team All-District and Second Team All-State during his time at Okoboji High School. He was also a member of the 2013 medley relay team that finished fourth at the state meet.

In the classroom, Goehring was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 4H and participated in a number of service activities.

He plans to major in pre-professional/physical therapy.
