Prizes and Pride for SL students at annual fundraiser

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Spirit Lake Elementary recently completed their Innisbrook Fall Fundraiser. We have set a new school record with sales of $43,734 plus donations of $621. Our school keeps between 45-50 percent of the money from our Innisbrook product sales. This money goes directly back to our students' classrooms and our school by teacher requests. On Friday, Oct. 15 we held our school assembly with drawings for a total of 19 prizes. Every student that sold 10 items or more got their name in the drawings. Our top seller, Evan Burrell, sold a total of 71 items and was awarded a basket full of Innisbrook products. Our top 10 sellers got to spray silly string all over Principal Boeve which was a huge hit with all the kids! Congratulations to those children. Pictured left to right back row: Jessie Longest, Brock Petersen, Evan Burrell, Nate Cornwall, and Maddie Vierkant. Front row: Lindsey Serck, Blaine Fullmer, Login Sill, Allison Vierkant, Riley Reynolds, and Owen Henry.

Each grade had a competition to see which homeroom class could sell the most products. The winning class from each grade received a popsicle party and a bag filled with a variety of playground equipment. Thank you to Fareway, Scott Trautman -- State Farm Insurance, Boomgaars, and Joovies for the equipment and popsicles. Congratulations to the kindergarten classroom of Mrs. Hanson, first grade classroom of Mrs. DeGroot, second grade classroom of Mrs. Keenan, third Grade classroom of Mrs. Tepfer, and fourth Grade classroom of Mrs. Johnson.

We also had prize drawings for children that sold 10, 15, 20 and 25 plus items. Our 10 item winners for Webkinz trading cards and a Dairy Queen Blizzard were Diamond Purifoy, Emily Werner, Max Dittsworth, Carter Axford, Anna Ellefson, and Jack Latham. Winning a prize package from Hey! Good Cookies were Cadence Reed and Connor Boeve. Fifteen item winners for gift cards from Walmart were Mikayla Farmer and Max Bower, Joovies gift cards went to Sophia Sires and Erikka Duhn, a Hill Ave Book Store gift card went to Keely Kielman and 2 Boji Splash passes went to Zach Jensen. Twenty item winners were Chase Kruse and Nate Walsh who received four passes to Boji Splash and winning $50 cash each was Dayton Hicks and Evan Burrell. Our 25-plus item Grand Prize Winner for an ipod Touch was Sophia Endly.

Thanks to the these local businesses that donated prizes: Bomgaars, Joovies, Scott Trautman -- State Farm Insurance, Fareway, Hey Good Cookies, Dairy Queen, Carolyns Hallmark, Walmart, Hill Ave Book Store, Boji Splash at Bridges Bay, and Joovies. Thank you also to our community for supporting our students and our school through our fall fundraiser. We appreciate your support!
