A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Aug. 24 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley for Annabell Krogman, 82, of Sibley. Burial was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ashton. Father John Vakulskas officiated.
Annabell Krogman was born on September 24, 1927, in Sibley, Iowa. She was the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Fox) King. She lived her youth in Sibley where she attended school and graduated from high school.
She was united in marriage to Norbert "Pat" Krogman of Ashton, Iowa, on Dec. 1, 1945, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley. They lived in Ashton until moving to Sibley where she continued to live. Norbert passed away on August 25, 1986. Annabell worked for 27 years at Priebe and Sons Sibley Egg and Poultry, 5 years for Johnny's Drive Inn, 25 years for Hallet Materials at the same time owning and operating Krogman's Hi Way 60 Café in Sibley for 18 years. She retired at the age of 78.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley, where she was a member of Catholic Daughters of America.
Annabell's favorite times were spent cooking for her family and friends. She especially loved her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She passed away on Friday, Aug. 20, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Wayne and Arlene Krogman of Spirit Lake, Charlotte "Sherry" McElroy of Sibley, Janell and Jim Johnson of Cherokee; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sister: Kathleen Gontjes. She was preceded in death by her husband: Norbert; her son-in-law: Vyrel Gene McElroy; her parents; sister and two brothers-in-law: Marie and Joe McElroy, John Gontjes.
Casket bearers were Douglas Krogman, Dan Molendorp, Kelly Krogman, Jim Johnson Jr., Allynn Jacobsma, Kyler Krogman, Riley Davids and Chris Luetkeman.
