Ray Elisha Chesnut, Jr. & Delshia Muriel Williams-Chesnut

A graveside memorial service is being held Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at the Murray Cemetery, Murray, Iowa for Ray and wife Del Chesnut. They were residents of Des Moines and Spirit Lake, and wintered in Arizona for many years. Most recently, they resided in the state of Washington, where they died just over one year apart.

Ray died peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, August 1, 2010. He was 91. His wife, Del, preceded him in death on May 13, 2009. She was also 91 at the time of her death. Ray and Del were married for over 63 years.

They are survived by one son, Ray E. Chesnut III, also a resident of the state of Washington, one granddaughter, Jessica Keefe, and several nieces and nephews. Ray is also survived by one brother, Ed of Des Moines and was preceded in death by his brother, Claude, of Des Moines.

The cremated remains will be interned at a quiet service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a gathering for lunch. Family and friends are invited to join together in remembrance of Ray and Del to recall memories of these two who will be missed by many.
