Funeral services were Thursday, July 15, at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji for Mildred Mae Wilson.

She passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at the Milford Nursing Center where she had been a resident since May of 2008. She was 96 years of age.

Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer. The Rev. Robert Vaage officiated.

Mildred Mae Wilson was born to Halver and Sarah (Nattress) Knudson in Milford on April 24, 1914. She received her education at Milford and was a Milford High School graduate.

On December 12, 1933, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Wilson at Spirit Lake and three children, Loren, Donna, and Mickey were born to this union. The couple farmed in Dickinson County for eight years and then in Clay County for the remainder of their farming years. In 1975, they moved to Milford; and they continued to farm until Don's retirement in 1978. After the farm years, Mildred worked seasonally at Vacation Village. In their retirement, the couple enjoyed wintering in Arizona.

Mildred was a member of First Lutheran Church. Family and friends were the central focus of her life. She was especially close to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by her three children and their spouses; Loren Wilson and his wife, Jan, Donna Gould and her husband, Harlan, and Mickey Wilson and his wife, Betty; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren in addition to many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don in 1997, three sisters, Selma Enderson, Evelyn Hughes, and Bernice Eichman and one brother Jerry Knudson.

Pallbearers were Dawnelle Cowan, Shellee Luchtel, Ricky Gould, Jodie Hennings, Rodney Gould, Lorie Wilson and Keith Wilson.
