Thomas Paul Swain

Thomas Paul Swain, 81, passed away May 31, 2010, with his family by his side.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 8, at Singleton's Community Mortuary in Indianapolis.

Tom was born December 23, 1928, to Louis and Catherine (Henn) Swain in Evansville, Ind. Louis and Catherine had four sons and three daughters including Robert Swain, Patricia Webley, Sharon Werner, Allen Swain, Mary Praed, Louis Swain, and George William Swain. Louis and George William Swain preceded Tom in death.

Tom married Jeanne Miles on June 27, 1953, in Cleveland. Tom is survived by his daughter, Luanne (Swain) Kempf, and his son, Kenneth Swain. Jeanne preceded Tom in death September 19, 2005. Tom and Jeanne have nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Tom had a great passion for the game of golf and had won several amateur championships. He enjoyed his many friends, and after retirement joined his "buddies" for coffee many mornings at the Speedway Donut Shop in Indianapolis. His second great passion was for NASCAR racing and would very rarely miss the chance to watch Jeff Gordon race. He enjoyed family, friends and laughter.
