Havener, Atkerson to wed

Steve and Janine Havener of Mission, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Marguerite Havener to Burke Louis Atkerson, son of Charles and Mary Jo Atkerson of Big Spring, Texas.

The couple will exchange their wedding vows on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at an outdoor ceremony at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony, Texas with their reception in The Tribute Ballroom. The bride's parents will also host a local wedding reception for the newlyweds in McAllen on August 7, 2010.

Jill Marguerite is the granddaughter of John and Peggy Havener of Osage Beach, Mo., and the late Bill and Marguerite Hemphill of Lake Park, Iowa. Burke is the grandson of late Jeff and Ida Atkerson and the late Burke and Mary Barkley, both formerly of Casa Grande, Ariz.

The bride-elect graduated from Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas in 2006. Jill will graduate from the University of North Texas in Denton in May 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business.

The prospective groom graduated from Forsan High School near Big Spring, Texas, in 2005. Burke will graduate from the University of North Texas in Denton in May 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Cross-cultural Studies.

The couple will intern as Navigator Staff through EDGE Corps where they will minister to college students at UNT in preparation for full-time ministry overseas in the future.
