Hank Hall, clay artist from Spirit Lake, has received word from A. Houberbocken, Inc. in Cudahy, Wis., that his "Dotted Teapot" has been selected for the 21st Annual Teapot Show "On the Road Again."

This international exhibition of teapots will open in the trendy Chiaroscuro gallery and shop at Watertower Place in Chicago on April 5. Boasting "art for more than just your wall," Chiaroscuro sells contemporary art furniture, functional and sculptural ceramics, glass, wood, jewelry, handmade paper goods, paintings, and mixed media pictures from more than 200 artists and artisans from around the world.

The international teapot exhibit, which began in 1989 in Milwaukee and relocated in Chicago, has enjoyed great success over the years with collectors and the general public, according to curator Jean Houlehen from A. Houberbocken, Inc. Three professional artists selected the work.

"Dotted Teapot" is a functional teapot made of cone 6 stoneware and including a signature handle of aluminum, brass, and rubber hardware parts. Hall created this one-of-a-kind piece in his studio at Art on 16th in Olde Town Spirit Lake, across the street from the public library and post office. Once the wood-working shop of master craftsman Joe Lieb, Art on 16th now offers original art for sale by Hall and 15 other area artists, plus year-round youth and adult art classes. For more information about Art on 16th or Hank Hall, visit www.hankhallarton16th.com.

The teapot exhibition runs from April 5 through May 16 at Chiaroscuro at Watertower Place on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
