Lint remains at the Dickinson County Jail in Spirit Lake to face charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp. Both are Class D felonies.
Investigating officers say Lint "did possess approximately 99.5 grams of marijuana contained within 21 separate packages," according to a criminal complaint filed in Spirit Lake.
The 18-year-old from Milford faces more serious charges in Sioux Falls, S.D. Lint is charged with premeditated murder, first-degree murder and two counts of robbery in Minnehaha County, S.D.
Investigators there think Lint shot a suspected drug co-conspirator -- 19-year-old Michael Stevens of Sioux Falls, S.D. -- three times on Dec. 30 in a parking lot at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. An expo building employee found Stevens in his car on Jan. 4 and a shotgun connected to the murder was found in a nearby snow bank.
Minnehaha County State's Attorney Aaron McGowan has said his office plans to use a Jan. 20 indictment to pursue a governor's warrant for Lint's extradition.
Spirit Lake attorney Michael Johnson is representing Lint in Iowa and Judge Pat Carr on Monday approved his request to delay the arraignment in Dickinson County.
