Hats off to you

Wednesday, February 3, 2010
To all the blood donors of Dickinson County, "hats off to you," as we had another tremendous successful American Red Cross Blood Drive here in January.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the following who reached milestones. They are: Bev Rigby of Milford, 9 gallons; Darlene Halquist of Lake Park, 8 gallons; Tom Ransom of Harris, 7 gallons; Duane Schnitter of Spirit Lake, 5 gallons; Rev. Karl Whiteman of Milford, 4 gallons; Erin Kirschbaum of Spirit Lake and Inga Hoffman, 1 gallon. Also we say thank you to all the individuals who gave blood for the first time. Keep it up!

We cannot forget all those who helped behind-the-scenes to make this another successful drive. A special thank you to the Methodist Church for opening their doors of Wesley Place and providing a place for our January blood drive. Your generous hospitality was so appreciated.

Thank you to the Kiwanis who so unselfishly gave up their usual Thursday meeting place to let the American Red Cross have their blood drive there. The Kiwanis also provided volunteers to help set up before and to tear down after the drive. Thank you. Wal-Mart provided cookies for the donors to enjoy after their donation. Thank you. We cannot have successful drives unless we have volunteers to keep everything running smoothly. Thank you to all those individuals. Again to everyone, your commitment is very much appreciated. The need for blood is so real. Make your appointment today for our next drive March 11. Feel free to call any of the co-chairs listed below. See you in March!

Betty Goddell and Dolly Bohde, Lake Park

Kathy Hesseltine and Lois Eckard, Milford

Bob Schneitzer and Vernice Wahl, Spirit Lake
