Letter to the Editor

Cardinal thanks

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Dear Editor,

We thank all the people that made the ArtsLIVE People's Project another fantastic success this year! Over 200 people braced the cold and showed up to make the shape of a giant cardinal on the ice on Little Millers Bay in front of Iowa Lakeside Lab. The cardinal was designed by Chad Branham, and photographed from the air by Spencer photographer Judy Hemphill. Many volunteers and organizations helped make this event possible Thanks to ArtsLIVE and the Friends of Lakeside Lab for their sponsorships, to Tom and Molly Bedell for letting us use Peace Corner for parking, to the Okoboji TAG students for their art work and treats, to the Chamber for helping with publicity, and all the volunteers that helped with parking, and numerous other details.

The ArtsLIVE People Project is a partnership between ArtsLIVE, the Friends of Lakeside Lab, and Iowa Lakeside Laboratory to join the arts and sciences in creating a work of art that celebrates our community, our natural resources and promotes environmental awareness.
