Rebecca Linae Salmen and Heath Hjelmer Huberg were united in holy matrimony on Sept. 5, 2009 at East Side Lutheran in Sioux Falls, S.D. with the Rev. Jerry Buwalda officiating. The bride is the daughter of David and Cheryl Salmen, Wessington Springs, S.D. and the grand-daughter of Wayne and Beverly Salmen, Wessington Springs and Carl Landrum, Jackson Ga. The bridegroom is the son of Cheryl (Mark) Zieringer, Omaha. Neb. and Gary Huberg, Royal, Iowa, and the grandson of Virgil and Marietta Wahlman, Milford, and Charles and Loueen Huberg, Royal. He is the great-grandson of Hjelmer and Dorothy Huberg, Royal.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Nuptial music was provided by organist/pianist Sharon Buwalda and David Salmen, organist; Kent Foss, trumpet; Heather Salmen, soprano; Brandon Hendrickson, baritone; Daniel Richardson, bass-baritone; and a choir of the couple's many musical friends under the direction of Noah Cornelius.

The maid of honor was Heather Salmen, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elisabeth Belz, Leah Burnison and Maren Olsen, friends of the bride, and Latanda Salmen, sister-in-law of the bride. Lindsay Wood, friend of the bride, was personal attendant.

The best man was Kyle Fitzgerald, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Daniel Richardson, Brandon Hendrickson and Noah Cornelius, friends of the groom, and Brandon Salmen, brother of the bride.

A dinner reception, hosted by the bride's parents, followed at the Old Courthouse Museum in Sioux Falls. The couple took their honeymoon trip to Waikiki Beach in Honolulu.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Wessington Springs High School, 2006 graduate of Simpson College, and 2009 graduate of Ball State University with her Master of Music in flute performance. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Okoboji High School, 2005 graduate of Simpson College, and 2007 graduate of New England Conservatory with his Master of Music in vocal performance.

The couple currently resides in Bradenton Fla., where the bride is employed with the Florida Studio Theatre and the groom is employed with the Sarasota Opera.
