G/T homecoming week is 'Back in Black'

The Graettinger/Terril School District is set to celebrate homecoming with a week full of activities beginning Monday, Sept. 21.

The festivities kick off with the first dress up day. Students will be asked to dress up in their pajamas on Monday, wear their favorite team hat and jersey on Tuesday, dress as a hippie or in neon colors Wednesday, wear clothing of the opposite sex Thursday and participate in black out day on Friday. The cheerleaders will hand out prizes to students in both buildings that show the best "spirit" attire throughout the week.

The 2009 homecoming king and queen will be named at coronation in the high school gym Monday at 7 p.m. Vying for the crown are: Kelsey Hart, Lizzie Niemann, Brianna Girres, Amanda Oleson, Tasha Neilson, Skye Simonsen and Dakota Hovinga. Up for the title of king are: Michael Jensen, Joe Moore, Cody Dyhrkopp, Taylor Harris and Brandon Laidig.

Tym Hart, Blaze Alesch, Jesse Nissen, Anna Kienol and Kayla Smith will serve as attendants. Emcee for the evening will by Tyler Harris.

The volleyball team will play on Tuesday, Sept. 22 against West Bend-Mallard on the home court and again on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Ruthven. Both games begin at 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23 there will be a Spirit Grill Out for volleyball, football and band members at 6:30 p.m. at Evergreen Park followed by Powder Puff football.

A parade will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 with a community pep rally to follow at the football field. The homecoming football game is scheduled that night against Twin River Valley with a kickoff time of 7 p.m. There will be no homecoming dance this year.
