Street Rods, customs and more to be on display at Old Iron Car Show

The Old Iron Company will host its 31st Annual "Micro-Mini Nationals" this weekend Aug. 7-9 at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer with a special trip to Arnolds Park planned for Saturday, Aug. 8. Open for street rods, customs, classics and muscle cars, the event will display all sorts of classic cars for owners and the public to view.

Registration for the event will begin Friday from 5-9 p.m. at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer. Friday night, registrants can enjoy hot dogs, nachos and popcorn at the fairgrounds as well as games for children and adults.

On Saturday, the classic cars will move from Spencer to Arnolds Park. Registration at Arnolds Park will take place from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. There will be a poker run/walk and supper Saturday night for those who have registered, children and adult games as well as a show and shine event beginning at 9 a.m. A live band will top off the car show Saturday night.

On the schedule for Sunday morning is a breakfast of rolls, juice and coffee for paid participants.

Participants can camp with other registrants for $15 per night.

The Old Iron Company was started in 1978 in Spencer with six original families that enjoyed modifying and rebuilding old cars.
