Yvonne M. Rohlfsen

A memorial service was held July 29 at Union Memorial Church in Milford for Yvonne M. Rohlfsen, 71, of Milford, who passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

Yvonne was born on Jan. 15, 1938, in Washington, DC, to Wallace and Arline (Rolston) English.

Yvonne graduated from Hartley High School in 1956, and then went on to further her education at NBT in Sioux City. She was united in marriage to Jim Rohlfsen on April 11, 1958, in Sheldon. Yvonne worked at the Milford Elementary School for 16 years as a secretary.

Yvonne was a member of Union Memorial Church. She helped by volunteering at Lakes Regional Healthcare, meals on wheels and as a mentor for Kinship. Yvonne enjoyed spending her spare time singing, golfing, dancing, cooking, traveling, shopping and going to garage sales, but her true passion was her family.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, James Rohlfsen of Milford; a son, Kelly Rohlfsen, and his wife, Kris, of Tarkio, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Lu Walk, and her husband, Robert, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Kathy Jo Cullen of Milford; a brother, Wallace Kimmel English, and his wife, Bernadette, of Arlington, Texas; three grandsons, Brandon Deets, and his wife, Brenda, Kyler Rohlfsen and Derek Rohlfsen; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Alyssa; and a special friend, Heath Marchand of Terril. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Kent.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Yvonne's name.
