How much I enjoy being at the lakes

Wednesday, July 22, 2009

After a number of years, I am finally beginning to really enjoy myself while at the lakes. At first, that was not the case. Not being a "lakes person" so to speak, I had some difficulty adjusting to the new situation.

I was expecting to meet a bunch of snobs, if you know what I mean. Instead I met a lot of good people from every socioeconomic group and more genuine friendship than one generally expects at resort areas. The people here are friendly, courteous and considerate. Also, the prices are reasonable, and the service in almost every store is much better than almost anywhere I have ever been.

There is much to do, and if one prefers to sit and bask in the sun by the pool, we can do that. The churches are very nice. My wife and I hope to attend many before leaving the planet, if you know what I mean.

The papers are extremely good - especially yours - and the cable services is excellent. I especially enjoy the sports coverage, including the local and area games. I also enjoy the council meeting reports.

In short, for the first time in many years, I am really beginning to enjoy myself.

My genuine thanks to all at Brandon Wood for making us feel just like "one of the family."

My sincere thanks to you also for allowing many to present their views, be they critical or complimentary. At the present time, my wife and I have found very little to criticize.

May the future give you and the businesses that surround the lakes many roses and few thorns.
