Husaboe, Tuinstra, Janzen booked on drug charges

On Wednesday June 10 at approximately 11:28 p.m., Spirit Lake Police arrested two subjects at 2204 Gary Avenue on several charges. While at the residence for a complaint, police say they discovered several items of drug paraphernalia in plain view. The subjects, identified as 22-year-old Steven James Husaboe and 20-year-old Hayley Marie Tuinstra, both of Spirit Lake, were place under arrest. Further investigation showed there was a no contact order between the two subjects.

Upon further investigation, another male subject was arrested on another drug charge. The male, identified as 22-year-old Chad Elliot Janzen, also of Spirit Lake, was arrested from the Discovery House where he was living. Officers say they located a small amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in Janzen's possession. All three subjects were transported to the Dickinson County Jail to appear before a judge.

Husaboe was booked on the following charges: possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor; violation of a no contact order, a simple misdemeanor and keeping a disorderly house, a simple misdemeanor.

Tuinstra was booked on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor; aiding and abetting, a simple misdemeanor and keeping a disorderly house, a simple misdemeanor.

Janzen was booked on the charge of possession of a controlled substance to wit: marijuana, first offense, a serious misdemeanor.


Drug arrest leads to cocaine charges

The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office arrested several individuals for possession of controlled substances and alcohol on June 13. A traffic stop was made on a Chrysler Sebring in the 1000 block of Highway 86 at 11:38 p.m. Deputies located substances believed to be cocaine and marijuana.

Officers arrested Jose Luis Munoz Moreno, 19, of Estherville and charged him with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers also arrested Nathan Theesfeld, 21, of Estherville and charged him with possession of cocaine and driving without headlamps.

Moreno and Theesfeld were booked in to the Dickinson County Jail.

Four juveniles were cited with possession of cocaine and alcohol and released to their parents.

- Shane Allen Neavin, 27, of Spirit Lake was arrested for driving while suspended at 5:31 p.m. May 20.

- Richard Anthony Crawford, Jr., 35, of Spirit Lake was arrested for OWI - 1st offense and no insurance at 1:23 a.m. May 25.

- Shawn M. Johnson, 34, of Parker, Colo. was arrested for OWI - 1st offense and stopping on the paved part of a highway at 2:22 a.m. May 25.

- Bonnie J. Hadfield, 49, of Lincoln, Neb. was arrested for OWI - 1st offense at 12:22 a.m. May 24.

- Travis S. Janzen, 20, of Spirit Lake was arrested for public intoxication, possession of stolen property and interference with official acts at 7:20 p.m. May 18.

- Keosha L. Whitehorn, 23, of Milwaukee, Wisc. was arrested for assault and theft at 6:30 p.m. May 20.

- Gram Jacob Johnson, 32, of Spirit Lake was arrested for public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts at 9:30 p.m. May 18.

- Michael Allen Lorenzen, 25, of Spirit Lake was arrested for public intoxication at 2:11 a.m. May 30.

- Christine A. Walters, 50, of West Des Moines was arrested for OWI - 2nd offense at 1:57 a.m. May 31.

- Curtis Blaine Berry, 46, of Arnolds Park was arrested for theft - 5th degree and driving without a license at 12:42 p.m. May 31.

- Brekka Nichole Kaderabek, 25, of Spencer was arrested for theft - 5th degree at 10 a.m. May 28.

- Steven James Husaboe, 22, of Lakefield, Minn. was arrested for domestic abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts at 6:06 p.m. June 3.

- Elise Sue Pick, 56, of Carroll was arrested for OWI - 1st offense and cited for improper use of lanes and speeding at 1:24 a.m. June 5.

- Joseph W. Hurd, 22, of Gretna, Neb. was arrested for OWI and cited for speeding at 2:15 a.m. June 5.

- Chase John Albertson, 18, of Forest City was arrested for possession under the legal age (PULA), public intoxication, interference with official acts and frequenting a disorderly house at 11:20 p.m. June 4.

- John Ryan Joynt, 20, of Emmetsburg was arrested for Possession Under Legal Age and frequenting a disorderly house at 11:20 p.m. June 4.

- Robbi Lee Subject, 18, hometown unknown, was arrested for Possession Under Legal Age and public intoxication at 11:20 p.m. June 4.

- Justin Edward Dyhrkopp, 25, of Spirit Lake was arrested for domestic abuse, possession of a controlled substance - marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:10 a.m. June 9.

- Jeffrey M. Clark, 50, of Spirit Lake was arrested for assault, public intoxication and violation of a no contact order at 12:08 a.m. June 9.

- Steven James Husaboe, 22, of Spirit Lake was arrested for violation of a no contact order, possession of drug paraphernalia and keeping a disorderly house at 11:28 a.m. June 10.

- Chad E. Janzen, 22, of Spirit Lake was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at 12:48 a.m. June 11.

- Margaret Ruth Waltz, 44, of Spirit Lake was arrested on a warrant for 2nd degree theft at 10:45 a.m. June 11.

- Hayley Marie Tunistra, 20, of Spirit Lake was arrested for aiding and abetting, possession of drug paraphernalia and keeping a disorderly house at 11:28 p.m. June 10.

- Jesse Michael Stanke, 28, of Mankato, Minn. was arrested for OWI - 2nd offense, open container - driver, no insurance, co drivers license and operation without registration at 2:31 a.m. June 14.

- Drew Nielsen, 44, of Spirit Lake was arrested for a loudspeaker device at 4:40 a.m. June 14.

- Steven James Husaboe, 22, of Spirit Lake was arrested for theft at 7:47 p.m. June 12.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
