Freedom is the basis for all of our rights as Americans. Unfortunately many of these freedoms are being eroded and manipulated by those very people we have elected to protect and preserve them. Excessive taxation erodes every citizen's freedom to succeed. Activist judges remove our freedom to decide the laws we live under via our representative democracy. Support of political correctness limits each person's freedom of expression. More examples abound.
It is time for "We the People" to stand up and let our elected officials know that we will not stand for any further attacks on our freedoms. If you have similar concerns about your freedoms, you are invited to attend the Spirit Lake TEA Party event scheduled for July 4th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic Carnegie Library Building at 1801 Hill Ave. Please also share your thoughts on freedom issues by attending our next organizational meeting on June 1 at 6 p.m. at the same location. (Food will be served.) You can also join the Google group Spirit Lake TEA Party and share your opinions.
On July 4th let's let freedom ring in our community.
