Memorial mass was held May 16 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert for Judith Ann Pfarr Kivela Arnold, 70, of Gilbert, who passed away May 11 at her residence in Gilbert.
Fr. Charles Flynn officiated. Interment was at Gilbert Cemetery.
She was born March 3, 1939 in Grand Rapids, Minn. to Robert and Myrtle (Whiting) Pfarr. Judith was a graduate of Gilbert High School and later worked as a secretary for Erie Mining Company. She co-owned and operated the A&W in Cook, Minn., which was eventually moved to Gilbert.
She worked for the Gilbert Herald and worked for the City of Gilbert in the Clerk's office. In 1977 she moved to Spirit Lake, where she worked as a payroll administrator for Stylecraft Furniture.
Judith returned to Gilbert in 2004 and resided at Broadview Manor. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church, was a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer and enjoyed cooking, sewing and over the years loved her many dogs.
Survivors include her children Jill Salo and her husband Nathan of Gilbert, Joel Krause of Rosemount and John Krause and his wife Lisa of Crystal; grandchildren: Seth and Bray Salo, Ashley Krause, Rebecca, Kyla and Jose' Krause; brother: Thomas Pfarr and his wife Debbie of San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
