America's economic system is built on individual free enterprise. Much of our economic and social strength is based in healthy, fair competition. On the other hand, an overdriven model of privatization can take our greatest strength too far and make it a weakness...

A $25,000 grant from Alliant Energy will assist with the construction of a new rain garden between the historic Arnolds Park Amusement Park and West Lake Okoboji. Rain gardens absorb storm water and help prevent runoff from flooding a nearby lake or pond.
