    Two summer storms inspired an artistic fall home improvement project at the Carole Lochmiller home. The Spirit Lake resident found a way to spruce up her lawn with the help of an artist, a few chainsaws and a broken tree. Duane Nelson of Jackson, Minnesota spent most of Monday, Sept. 29 building a sculpture out of a bur oak tree at Lochmiller's home at 212 18th Street.     Fifty-two nominations came in and they were all deserving, according to Devon and Amber Oberman. The couple operates Roof Guard and the company recently completed a free roof giveaway promotion. Nominations of 100 words or less came through Facebook. Others were dropped off at Bomgaars or the Boondocks convenience store in Arnolds Park. They each suggested a family in need that was deserving of some help...
