"Look! You can see where it's charred." I'm exploring storm damage at the campground in Arnolds Park with a friend after Saturday evening's storm, and he's right. A tree that had been split in two by a lightning bolt did indeed hold two deep, charcoal stains, evidence of the bolt of lightning that had hit it, splintering a tree that was likely a century old down the middle as if it were nothing but a cheap piece of particle board...
