Collision sends deputy to hospital (08/19/09)
A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 9 and Peoria Avenue in Spirit Lake sent a Sheriff's deputy to the hospital on Tuesday morning. At approximately 8:48 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, Scott Arndt was driving an Interstate Power and Light international truck northbound on Peoria Avenue.

Cocktails case complicates Smokefree Air Act interpretation (08/19/09)
The Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division is considering a 14-day suspension for Cocktails in Arnolds Park for violations of the Iowa Smokefree Air Act. The hearing complaint for Cocktails lists several potential violations and alleges that "the licensee's open and continuing failure to comply with all applicable provisions of the Smokefree Air Act... is sufficient grounds for the suspension and/or revocation of the liquor license."

Historic Arnolds Park board boasts bandshell plan (08/19/09)
