Wings and Wetlands (05/11/09)
Approximately 50 nature lovers attended a trumpeter swan release event Saturday, May 9 during the Dickinson County Conservation Board's Wings and Wetlands weekend. Dave Hoffman, Wildlife Technician for the Iowa DNR, brought the swans to be released at this year's annual event at West Hottes Lake. In celebration of Mother's Day, two of the mothers in attendance had the honor of releasing the swans into the wild.
