A few droplets were left on the shiny, waxed surfaces of the classic cars lining Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake Saturday evening. Only a few cars were parked and ready a few hours before the city's annual Cruise-In, but several auto enthusiasts were popping their hoods and gathering around engine blocks. Then, just behind the familiar "ahoogah" of a vintage Model A Ford, the skies opened up and let down a brief torrent of rain. The downpour ended soon after, and more classics took their place along the downtown thoroughfare. Admirers young and old could be seen leaning over the side panels to check out the interior touches and peeking under the hood to see the care put into maintaining the motors.
