Welcome to the “last week of school!”
As I have said many times, this is not how I expected to spend my last week of school. I hadn’t thought about it much because, quite honestly, it makes me sad, but I at least expected to be within the walls of SLHS.
For the past three years, we have waited for our own senior breakfast and chance to put our cap and gowns on and walk through the elementary. Instead, we had our last day of walking the halls without even knowing it. We didn’t get some of the “hallmark” senior year moments. Instead, we get new, special and creative ways to celebrate.
Instead of walking the halls for the first day of my last week at Spirit Lake High, I spent it making homemade playdough, designing obstacle courses and helping train a new puppy with the girls I nanny. It isn’t the normal beginning of the end, but it sure has been fun! They welcomed a new goldendoodle puppy to the family about a week or so ago! I think I was almost as excited as the three girls were to meet her. Now, more than ever, there really never is a dull moment with them.
Oh, we can add another unsuccessful fishing outing to the list! I’m starting to think fishing really isn’t my thing.
