Now that everything's starting to open up again and life is starting to get back on track again — it means everyone has to go back to work again. This includes me!
I work at The Gardens in the Emporium as a waitress. We opened up our restaurant on May 1, like most places in the Lakes Area. Most would say that it’s business as usual, but that is not the case here.
We now have to sanitize everything all the time. Not being dramatic either. We have to clean all touched surfaces once an hour. Well, basically, you touch it, we clean it. All of our tables are marked at six feet apart and we don't offer as many. You are not allowed to have a beer and be on your way. Now you have to eat food in order to have a drink.
Does the orange in my Blue Moon count?
Okoboji is such a staple area to hop from one place to another and enjoy a drink and the scenery. It is a huge change around here. It is so nice seeing a lot of the locals in the restaurant and being able to interact with them while keeping that distance. I hope this doesn’t last long.
